This engaging presentation will explore the extent of the addiction problem in Minnesota; recognize who is most vulnerable to addiction; and discuss what faith communities can and should do to help its members.

Addiction is the number one health crisis facing our society today, and it is continually growing worse. Accidental overdoses from a poisoned drug supply are on the rise, particularly among young people and there’s been an increase in alcohol abuse by all age groups fueled by the pandemic. Where does a faith community come in? This engaging presentation will explore the extent of the addiction problem in Minnesota; recognize who is most vulnerable to addiction; and discuss what faith communities can and should do to help its members. Learn about a community-based organization providing peer-based training that can also be a resource to faith communities.
The featured speaker will be Reverend Dr. Ed Treat, CEO of the Center of Addiction and Faith and Mental Health Connect board member.
