Immediate Serve Opportunities

 Habitat for Humanity - August  4 - 8 work week:  Work one or more days with other Bethlehem members to help with house building project in south Minneapolis.  All skill levels needed.   

Sunday Hospitality - Sunday Mornings: Greet members and guests at one of the building entrances or the welcome booth.  Assist with directions and questions.  10-12 times per year, choice of service times.  Sunday Evenings:  The community continues to grow, as do opportunities for hospitality.  Consider serving one Sunday a month; Setup Team (30 minutes before service); Connecting Team (greet people as they arrive, make and/or serve bars after service), Tear-down Team (15 minutes after service).

 Sunday Office Receptionist:  Answer phones, greet guests to church office reception desk; assist with directions/questions.  Serve 1 Sunday morning per month. 

 Music Ministry - 11:30 am Service:  If you an instrumentalist or singer, now is the time to consider being part of the music ministry at the Sunday 11:30 am service.  The music at this service is uplifting and energetic and is led by an ensemble that includes a song leader, piano and a variety of instruments. 

 Ushers Ministry - Sundays:  Service with a smile!  There's nothing more welcoming than to be greeted in the sanctuary with a friendly smile.  Share your smile and make a significant difference in someone's worship experience!  Your choice of worship services: 8, 9, 10:15 or 11:30.  Great for families to serve together!

 Funeral Usher/Hospitality Ministry:  Funeral/memorial services are special times to offer compassionate ministry to family and friends who are here to say good-bye to a loved one.  Bethlehem may be an unfamiliar building to many people who attend.  Assist in greeting people, hand out worship folders, guide people in the building and bea comforting presence.   

   Adult Education Ministry Team:  Help to plan and organize Sunday morning, Wednesday evening and other adult education offerings during the year. 

Confirmation Small Group Leader:   Meet with small group of confirmation students on a weekly basis from Sept. - May. 

 Sunday School Staff:  There are ways to serve in children's ministries this fall:  Sunday School music leader, co-teacher, resource person, class "lifeguard."  Your choice of ages/grades 2 yr olds - 6th grade.  Check out the possibilities!

 Safety Management Team:  New Ministry!  A "pilot training" group will convene in July and August.  Train in emergency procedures at Bethlehem; take a leadership role to assure that people in the building are safe during all kinds of emergencies.  Training will be a limited time commitment, and ongoing participation will fit your schedule.  Joining the Safety Management Team is as simple as agreeing to sit in emergency row of an airplane.  And just as important! 

 Help in the Nursery!  The littlest members of Bethlehem are looking for Sunday Morning volunteers during worship services. June 1 - August 31, 2008.  Choose your Sundays to help out.  Contact Joannie Schwalen, 952.888.7527.
